Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an enthusiastic undergraduate to join our DevOps team for a 6-month hybrid internship in Italy. You will gain hands-on exposure to software delivery, cloud-native technologies, and security best practices, with a focus on DevSecOps, SBOM, and vulnerability management.

You will work on CI/CD pipelines, IaC projects, and Kubernetes deployments, collaborating with software engineers and security stakeholders to strengthen our development and delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong interest in DevOps, cloud-native tech, Kubernetes, IaC, and software supply chain security.
• Willingness to learn and work in a collaborative environment; analytical and detail-oriented.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic undergraduate student to join our DevOps team. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to modern software delivery, cloud‑native technologies, and infrastructure automation, with a primary focus on DevSecOps practices. As part of the team, you will contribute to improving software supply chain security, open‑source governance, and vulnerability management while gaining experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.

What You'll Do

Support DevSecOps initiatives with a focus on:

• Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation, validation, and maintenanceMonitoring, tracking, and assessing Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs)
• Open‑source software compliance and governance activities
• Security and compliance automation within development workflows
• Assist in the development and maintenance of GitHub‑based CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) projects across both on‑premises and cloud environments
• Support Kubernetes‑based application deployments and platform operations
• Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps engineers, and security stakeholders to improve development and delivery processes

What We're Looking For
