Overview

Work fully remote for a FinTech client from the UK. Contract type: B2B contractor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance cloud infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work within GCP, focusing on internal cloud migration as the company’s two business lines diverge.
• Design and manage CI/CD workflows spanning multiple platforms.
• Implement scalable systems using Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools like Terraform and GDM.
• Maintain container orchestration environments with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Guarantee high availability (99.99%) and enforce strong security measures.
• Automate system maintenance tasks including patching, monitoring, and alerting.
• Diagnose infrastructure problems and provide second‑level technical support.

Competencies and Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Solid practical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, including IAM, GKE, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and VPC.
• Skilled in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in Linux shell scripting (e.g., Bash).
• Hands‑on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Understanding of Vault, KMS, or Google Secret Manager.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• English language proficiency for technical and business communication.
