Our consultants are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Migration Engineer with extensive experience in modernizing and performing lift-and-shift migrations from data centers to the cloud. This individual will serve as a subject-matter expert on a team of cloud engineers tasked with helping applications modernize and migrate to the cloud. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting other teams in migrating their applications to the cloud. As a Senior Migration Engineer, your primary responsibility will be assisting teams with architecture and engineering support for migrating and modernizing their applications from on-premises data centers to AWS. This role requires in-depth technical expertise in legacy data center architectures, modern cloud architecture, and software development. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential due to the consultative nature of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software developers and cloud engineers responsible for cloud migration projects, serving as the subject-matter expert.
• Set goals, priorities, and expectations for the team.
• Mentor and coach team members to foster professional growth.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve conflicts, and ensure team performance.
• Assess existing applications and architecture, understand dependencies, and recommend migration strategies to our Kubernetes-based Cloud PaaS.
• Assist application teams in designing scalable, cost-effective cloud architectures and educate them on utilizing our PaaS.
• Support and train teams in writing, modifying, and optimizing code for cloud migration, following best practices.
• Collaborate with the SRE team to set up monitoring and logging solutions to ensure application health and performance.
• Document migration processes, architecture designs, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
• Provide training and support to ensure smooth cloud transition.
• Work with security teams to implement security measures and ensure compliance within the cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on cloud migration projects.
• Experience designing cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.
• Support and migration experience for legacy applications to the cloud.
• Expertise in programming languages (Java, Python, .NET) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kustomize, Helm.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Strong AWS skills.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers.
• Familiarity with Websphere, JBoss, Platform One: Big Bang, K8s Automation Frameworks (FluxCD, ArgoCD).
• Salary Range: $160K - $190K.
• Fully remote within the U.S.
