Our consultants are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Migration Engineer with extensive experience in modernizing and performing lift-and-shift migrations from data centers to the cloud. This individual will serve as a subject-matter expert on a team of cloud engineers tasked with helping applications modernize and migrate to the cloud. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting other teams during their migration processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and serve as the subject-matter expert for cloud migration projects, guiding teams of software developers and cloud engineers.
2. Set clear goals, priorities, and expectations for the team.
3. Mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth.
4. Provide technical guidance, resolve conflicts, and ensure team performance.
5. Assess existing applications and architectures, providing migration strategies to our Kubernetes-based Cloud PaaS.
6. Assist in designing scalable, cost-effective cloud architectures tailored to application needs and educate teams on utilizing our PaaS.
7. Support development and optimization of application code for cloud readiness following best practices.
8. Collaborate with SRE and application teams to implement monitoring, logging, and troubleshoot issues.
9. Document migration processes, architecture designs, and best practices.
10. Provide training and support to ensure smooth cloud transition.
11. Work with security teams to maintain security standards and compliance in the cloud environment.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with cloud migration expertise.
3. Experience in architecting cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.
4. Support and migration experience with legacy applications.
5. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, .NET, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
6. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Helm, Kustomize.
7. Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
8. Extensive AWS experience.
9. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
10. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
11. Familiarity with WebSphere, JBoss, Platform One Big Bang, and K8s automation frameworks like FluxCD and ArgoCD.

Salary Range: $160K - $190K
