Job summary

NetZero in Rome, Italy is seeking a PV & BESS Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. You will develop and optimise designs for utility-scale PV and battery storage projects across Italy and Europe.

The role offers a flexible hybrid working model with autonomy over your workload, collaborating with project managers and construction teams through design, reviews and commissioning to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Solid background in solar PV and/or BESS electrical design.
• Electrical Engineering degree (Master's preferred).
• Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst and PVCase.
• Understanding MV/HV infrastructure and electrical system design.
• Fluent Italian and English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise technical designs for utility-scale PV and BESS projects.
• Produce layouts, equipment specifications and electrical calculations, including MV/HV infrastructure.
• Manage detailed engineering designs, technical reviews and validation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and construction teams to support project delivery.
• Provide technical input during commissioning and project handover.

PV & BESS Design Engineer | Rome, Italy

I'm working with an established and growing renewable energy business looking to appoint a PV & BESS Design Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across Italy and wider Europe, with exposure to projects from detailed design through to construction and commissioning.

Flexible Hybrid Working & Autonomy

One of the real attractions of this opportunity is the flexibility on offer. Whilst the office is based in Rome, the business offers a genuinely flexible hybrid working arrangement, combining remote working with access to the office when needed.

You'll have plenty of autonomy in managing your workload, with a strong emphasis on delivering results rather than being tied to an office.

The Role:
