Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Deputy Sales Director is accountable for the commercial results within her/his scope: opportunity closures, development pipeline growth, specification activities, and sales revenue contribution margin.

She/He will work closely with the Marketing Managers and support the Sales Director Automotive EMEA in implementing the overall regional commercial plan.

  • Ensure sales and development objectives are met, forecasted, and aligned with financial objectives. Manage the budget and deploy the commercial strategy to achieve volume, pricing, market share, growth, development initiatives, and customer satisfaction targets, while maintaining a strong development pipeline.
  • Lead and coach Key Account and Account Managers, allocate resources, develop talents, set priorities, and oversee performance management.
  • Create an environment of motivated, engaged, and empowered team members. Provide support and coaching to optimize team performance and challenge as needed.
  • Foster teamwork across sales and other functions impacting the customer, ensuring decisions focus on customer satisfaction and results.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and potential key customers through proactive communication and visits to discuss opportunities.
  • Support team visits to prospects and customers, propose solutions, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Assist the Regional Sales Director in strategic projects such as marketing initiatives, product launches, and eMobility contacts in engineering departments.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and product forecasts, proposing actions accordingly.
  • Evaluate and propose innovative solutions for customer problems, coordinating with R&D and other internal resources to meet customer demands.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal departments including Customer Technical Development, Asset and Product Management, Customer Service, and Marketing.
Education and Experience
  • BA or BS degree in engineering, chemistry, material science, or related fields; other degrees considered based on experience.
  • Deep technical knowledge of specialty thermoplastic polymers such as PPA, PPS, PEEK, PAI, and polyamides.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Good understanding of e-mobility trends and their impact on plastics adoption.
  • German and English language skills are mandatory.
