Oracle Data Centre Technician

An Oracle Data Centre Technician acts as the technical liaison between technology teams and the Data Centre environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting infrastructure issues, creating and maintaining documentation, understanding equipment, and executing small projects independently while collaborating on larger ones.

Position Details:

Includes on-shift rotation with standby, requiring a valid driving license and personal transportation.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
2. Recent graduates and gap year students with interest and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
3. Experience in IT infrastructure support and server administration in environments with 200+ servers.
4. Knowledge of data center M&E equipment, airflow management, and structured cabling.
5. Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in confined or elevated spaces.
6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in virtual settings.
7. Strong process adherence and customer support experience.

Data Centre Experience:

1. Understanding of data center design, electrical and cooling systems.
2. Experience with airflow management, rack installation, and cabling.

Systems & Hardware Expertise:

1. Linux and/or Windows Server administration.
2. Hardware diagnosis, repair, and break/fix.
3. Networking fundamentals and IT hardware concepts.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a liaison to technical and non-technical teams.
2. Resolve internal customer issues promptly.
3. Support installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of server hardware and software.
4. Perform system board repairs and fault diagnosis.
5. Plan and commission new rack positions and whitespace.
6. Install structured cabling and adhere to health and safety standards.
7. Travel within EMEA as required, including on-premise work at customer locations.
