Important note :

This position involves on-shift rotation including standby (which is paid additionally). A valid driving license and the ability to transport oneself by car around Milan are required (work-related travel may be compensated).

Desired skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Recent graduates and gap year students with demonstrated interest and knowledge are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in IT infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200+ servers)
  • Experience with data center M&E equipment
  • A demonstrated drive to understand system details and solve customer problems
  • Experience in mission-critical operations environments
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in cramped or elevated spaces
  • Effective communication skills in a virtual environment
  • Strong adherence to processes and ability to champion them
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, professional interaction with diverse groups
  • Experience in client-facing support and service
  • Ability to work independently and in remote, cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in English

Additional Data Centre experience :

  • Knowledge of data center design, electrical and cooling systems
  • Airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle, containment)
  • Rack and equipment commissioning
  • Structured cabling skills with fiber and copper

Systems & hardware expertise :

  • Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers)
  • Hardware repair and diagnostics
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, troubleshooting)
  • IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, Ethernet, iLO)
  • OS installation and configuration
  • Core OS services (SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP)
