The candidate will work in the R&D Innovation Department as part of the Data Science & ML team, reporting to the BI & Data Science Lead.

The main activities involve consolidating and expanding RGI's knowledge and technological expertise in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning applications and Predictive Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to understand project goals and machine learning objectives;
• Develop and optimize LLM-based applications;
• Implement advanced machine learning algorithms for predictive modeling, focusing on statistical learning;
• Handle data extraction, cleaning, manipulation, validation, storage, and processing;
• Work with cross-functional teams, document findings, and ensure regulatory compliance;
• Manage model deployment, monitoring, and data drift detection.

Experience

At least 1-2 years of experience as a Data Scientist.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python and its ecosystem: Pandas, Polars, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow/PyTorch/Keras, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Statsmodels, SciPy, Git, GitHub;
• Experience with LLM libraries (LiteLLM, LlamaIndex, etc.);
• Knowledge of LLM workflows: embeddings, RAG, fine-tuning, etc.;
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of database normalization and data modeling;
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and deploying models via REST APIs using FastAPI;
• Fluent in English and Italian.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., AirFlow) and database management;
• Knowledge of R and related packages (e.g., Shiny);
• Experience with Docker for packaging applications;
• Using Pydantic for data validation;
• Familiarity with front-end prototyping libraries (Streamlit, Gradio);
• Proficiency in French, German, or Spanish is a plus.
