Your Impact: As a data scientist at QuantumBlack, you will work in multidisciplinary environments harnessing data to provide real-world impact for organizations globally. You will influence many of the recommendations our clients need to positively change their businesses and enhance performance.

Role responsibilities

• Work on complex and varied data sets from some of the world’s largest organizations to solve real-world problems.
• Develop data science products and solutions for clients and internal teams.
• Write optimized code to advance our internal Data Science Toolbox.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment with specialists in machine learning, engineering, and design.
• Focus on modeling by working alongside the Data Engineering team.
• Add real-world impact to your academic expertise; you are encouraged to write papers and present at meetings and conferences if you wish.
• Participate in R&D activities, attend conferences like NIPS and ICML, and share knowledge in retrospectives.
• Work in one of the most advanced data science teams globally.

What you’ll learn

• How successful projections on real-world problems across various industries are completed through referencing past deliveries of end-to-end machine learning pipelines.
• Build products alongside the Core engineering team and evolve processes to scale with data and handle complex client situations.
• Best practices in software development and productionizing machine learning models with our Machine Learning Engineering teams.

Your colleagues

Work with data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, designers, and project managers on interdisciplinary projects, using math, stats, and machine learning to derive structure and knowledge from raw data across various sectors.

Our Tech Stack

Your qualifications and skills

• Bachelor, MSc, or PhD in computer science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, or engineering.
• Up to 2 years of professional programming experience; experience applied to business problems is a plus.
• Programming: Python (must), R (highly valued), SPSS, SAS, Ruby, Hadoop (valued).
• Data treatment/mining: SQL, AWK, Access, Spark, Excel (highly valued).
• Statistical knowledge is a plus.
• Proven aptitude for analytics.
• Leadership in work or extracurricular activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate complex ideas in English and Italian; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
