Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to design and implement algorithms and solutions for processing images from optical sensors and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors, primarily for applications in agriculture and forestry. The ideal candidate will develop and prototype advanced algorithms leveraging state-of-the-art technologies in remote sensing data processing and machine learning to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.

Responsibilities:

• Algorithm Development: Create and optimize algorithms for satellite image data extraction, filtering, and enhancement, including analysis of multivariate time series using techniques such as classification, semantic segmentation, and feature extraction.
• Programming and Coding: Develop software primarily using Python. Knowledge of API development and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.

Key Activities:

• Design algorithms for satellite image processing (SAR and optical)
• Implement efficient code to support image processing and information extraction
• Oversee service development from concept to deployment, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python; experience with GDAL, Geopandas is a plus
• Hands-on experience with image processing and satellite data analysis
• Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle large datasets
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple development stages
