Oerlikon is building a new cloud data platform to enable Analytics, AI and digitalization. We seek a Data Engineer to translate business requirements into solutions on the MS Azure/Fabric platform, located in Brugherio with a hybrid work model.

You will analyze data management needs, design data models, implement storage and integration, and deliver Power BI dashboards and reports. Candidates should have 4+ years in data analytics and strong English/Italian skills.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar.
• Proven track record of at least 4 years of work experience in data management and analytics (data engineer, data architect, etc).
• Proficiency in data modeling methodologies and tools (ER diagrams, data flow diagrams, normalization).
• Experience with cloud data platform solutions including data storage, integration, governance products.
• Understanding of cloud services for data storage, processing and analytics.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD on Azure and GitHub.

Oerlikon is embarking on an ambitious data-driven journey, with a brand-new cloud data platform to be built at the heart of this transformation as enabler for Analytics, AI and digitalization in general. Data Engineering will play a key role in this journey, ensuring the delivery of Data Products.

In this context we are looking for you as a Data Engineer to analyze business requirements, transferring them into solution concepts and implementing them on our new MS Azure/Fabric based Data Platform.

The position is based in Brugherio (MB) and offers a hybrid work model.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements related to data management and analytics.
• Develop solution concepts, following guidelines, templates and best practices.
• Implement data management solutions, included integration, transformation, data modelling and storage on Microsoft.
• Deliver maintenance to developed solutions if necessary.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar.
• Proven track record of at least 4 years of work experience in roles related to data management and analytics, such as data engineer, data architect and similar.
• Proficiency in data modeling methodologies and tools (understanding of concepts such as normalization, and experience in designing entity-relationship diagrams and data flow diagrams).
• Experience with cloud data platform solutions including data storage, integration tools and frameworks, data management and data governance products.
• Understanding of general cloud services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
• Knowledge and practical experience with DevOps principles and tools, and how to use them in a data management/analytics environment. This includes knowledge of CI/CD on Azure and GitHub.
• Proficiency in Italian and in English.
• Experienced in multinational and geographically distributed work environments.
• Proven experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
