Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Security Specialist Intern to support day-to-day physical security operations for data centers, working with vendors, analyzing data, and improving surveillance and access control systems. This hands-on role requires driving to sites and engaging with people and processes to protect critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Risk Management, Security Management, Criminology, or related field, graduating in 2027/2028.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, with strong time management skills.
• Access to your own transport (driving license and personal vehicle may be required).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols.
• Analyze security metrics and data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Suggest improvements to electronic surveillance systems and access controls.
• Help develop guidance to data center occupants on reducing false alarms.
• Write reports and create presentations on the status of physical security operations for management.
• Assist with planning and coordinating security-related projects.
• Support incident documentation and follow-up processes.
