Altia is seeking a Senior Data Scientist / Environmental & Geospatial Data Consultant to drive sustainability projects across Europe. You will work with large environmental and agricultural datasets, build ML models, and apply geospatial analysis.

You will translate complex analytics into clear visuals and reports for technical stakeholders and decision-makers, contributing to environmental indicators and accounting frameworks. A collaborative, international project environment awaits.

The project

You will contribute to environmental data science, geospatial analysis, and sustainability activities within an international project supporting European institutions and agencies, working with large-scale datasets and advanced analytical methodologies.

• Environmental & Agricultural Data: Analyse, manage, and model large environmental and agricultural datasets, supporting evidence-based assessment and sustainability initiatives at regional and international scale.
• Data Science & Machine Learning: Develop and evaluate regression, predictive, classification, clustering, and Machine Learning models to extract insights from complex datasets.
• Geospatial Analysis: Apply geospatial and geo-statistical methodologies to environmental datasets, using specialised tools for spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualisation.
• Environmental Indicators & Accounting: Support the development and evaluation of environmental indicators and contribute to natural capital accounting frameworks and platforms.
• Data Storytelling & Communication: Translate complex analytical results into clear visualisations, reports, and data-driven narratives for technical stakeholders, decision-makers, and senior audiences.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare analytical documentation covering methodologies, geospatial and geo-statistical assessments, data management processes, and analytical results.
