MSC Cruises is seeking a Cyber Defense Junior Specialist to join its IT & Cyber Security team in a hybrid setting. The role focuses on executing cyber security projects across shoreside and onboard environments, updating and tuning security tools, and providing remote support to the incident response unit.

You will work with various security controls, participate in incident response, and contribute to ongoing hardening of systems and networks.

Competenze

• A degree in computer science, IT, computer engineering or related qualification.
• Minimum 4+ years’ of experience in network security or another cyber security role.
• Good knowledge of OS administration and network security technologies (e.g. security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway).
• Ability to manage multiple engagements & priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
• Italian as primary language and fluent English.
• Travel: 20% of the time.

MSC Cruises is recruiting for its IT & Cyber Security department a Cyber Defense Junior Specialist to join our team. The position will execute and deliver cyber security projects on both shoreside and onboard environments and help accelerate MSC Cruises journey to protect computer systems, networks, and data. The successful candidate will also update and tune security tools. (es. Firewalls). The role involves remote support to the incident response cyber unit.

Key Accountabilities

• Operate and optimize security tooling/products, including security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway, emergency detect and response, logging and auditing, event and incident management, privileged access management and authentication.
• Update documentation and maintain security controls and tools as needed.
• Support the implementation of new security controls and software.
• Supports IT during patching and vulnerability remediation phases.
• Analyze and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities.
• Support IT and Users during technical troubleshooting.
• Participate in the Incident response process.
• Review on a continuous improvement of configurations to increase level of security and protection.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, Competencies, Experience)

• A degree in computer science, IT, Computer engineering or related qualification.
• Minimum 4+ years’ of experience in network security or another cyber security role.
• Good Knowledge of operating systems’ administration and of network security technologies (e.g. security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway, emergency detect and response, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple engagements & competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
• Italian as primary language and fluent English.
• Available to support on call operation activities during non-standard working hours.
• Adaptable individual and Team player.
• Knowledge and/or certification on following solutions is considered a plus: Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Zscaler, Checkpoint, Microsoft Azure/O365.
• The following certifications are considered a plus: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, SANS GIAC.
• Travel: 20% of the time.

In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.

Contract

• Type of contract: Permanent
• Hybrid working model: 2 days per week remotely
• Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): “Addetti agli uffici ed ai terminals delle società di navigazione che esercitano l’armamento privato” – sez. personale di terra
• Gross annual salary (RAL): between €30.000 – €37.000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments
• Meal vouchers: worth €8 per on-site working day

The offer in terms of salary will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
