Job Summary

Supports the day-to-day operations of the Customer Service Team in promoting sales, obtaining orders, and providing service to our customers. Responsibilities include obtaining orders, providing timely follow-up on technical inquiries, maintaining reports, actively participating in marketing and sales, resolving billing problems, and contributing to product evaluations, code descriptions, inventory management, and pricing development.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Work closely with sales and marketing staff to meet and exceed sales and profit objectives.
  • Obtain orders and provide proactive customer service, including order entry, expediting, pricing, returns, delivery coordination, and follow-up on inquiries.
  • Follow up on customer technical inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain reports such as Open Order Reports and Billing Block Reports regularly.
  • Participate actively in marketing and sales of products and services.
  • Provide responsive, quality service to exceed customer expectations.
  • Offer input on customer needs, pricing, inventory, and competition to relevant departments.
  • Coordinate with Customer Financial Services to resolve billing issues.
  • Contribute to product evaluations, code descriptions, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
Non-essential Functions
  • Attend sales meetings and training as required.
  • Assist with sales meetings and trade shows.
  • Develop quotations and request bids or performance bonds within company guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a two-year business/trade degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of customer service, city desk, or sales experience with strong electrical product knowledge preferred.
  • Technical understanding of electrical systems with experience in electrical distribution preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English preferred.
  • Proficiency with PC Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, Email, and SAP preferred.

  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
