Job summary

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Italy seeks a Project Assistant for Cultural Mediation to support the National Labour Inspectorate. The role focuses on bridging linguistic and cultural gaps during inspections and information sessions and promoting migrants' rights.

You will provide clerical and language support, accompany taskforces, and help raise awareness of protection mechanisms for victims of exploitation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 3 years of relevant professional experience or Bachelor's with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience in clerical/administrative support and data entry.
• Experience with migrants or vulnerable groups is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide cultural mediation support during labour inspections and information sessions to facilitate communication between Italian authorities and migrants.
• Assist project staff by offering general information on national laws and administrative procedures related to recruitment, irregular work, labour exploitation, and trafficking.
• Contribute to awareness-raising activities focused on protection mechanisms for victims of labour exploitation and trafficking.
• Accompany inspection taskforces to various sites to aid communication with migrants.
• Offer language support during outreach activities, inspections, and meetings, maintaining impartiality.
