Wikifarmer is a global platform with the mission of empowering farmers by educating them and offering access to the open market to sell their products at fair prices.

The Problem We Are Solving

Most farmers worldwide still cultivate their fields using techniques learned from experience or inherited from ancestors, leading to non-optimal practices in terms of yield and environmental impact. Farmers produce the most valuable part of the food supply chain but receive the least value from it.

How We Are Fixing This

Wikifarmer is building an educational platform and a digital marketplace. Producers can update their agricultural knowledge and practices on one side of our platform, and upload their products for free on the other, gaining immediate access to domestic and international markets.

What We Are Looking For

Having secured new funding from Point Nine, we are building our Sales Leadership team, starting with our new Country Manager - Italy. In collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer and founders, you will lead our sales and business development strategy in Italy, developing sales across the country and building long-term relationships with local food processing units, importers/exporters, and retailers.

Responsibilities
  • Sell the platform's food and agricultural products to Italian customers in the food sector (food processing units, wholesalers, major retailers, hotel chains)
  • Manage your local P&L to maximize profitability, growth, and target achievement
  • Lead a small team to achieve sales targets
  • Acquire new accounts by sourcing new products on demand
  • Develop relationships with customers to upsell and cross-sell
  • Build partnerships with agricultural co-operatives and independent producers
  • Use our CRM to manage leads effectively
  • Grow the market to enable building a local sales team
  • Travel up to 25%, with expenses covered
Key Requirements
  • Several years of sales experience with a successful track record in the food wholesale industry
  • Strong network of decision-making food and beverage buyers
  • Financial and business acumen, including calculating margins and profitability
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills with a long-term relationship focus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable building from scratch
  • Fluency in Italian and English
