We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Manager to lead our Sales, Training, Events, Merchandising, and Trade Marketing operations in Italy. The Country Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, overseeing strategic initiatives, and providing leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams. This role requires a strong understanding of the pharmacy channel in Italy, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving targets and building successful teams.

Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership
  2. Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy to drive Sales, Training, Events, Merchandising, and Trade Marketing initiatives in Italy.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of business initiatives.
  4. Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and potential risks to formulate effective strategies and action plans.
  1. Business Growth
  2. Drive business growth by implementing effective sales promotions and marketing strategies aligned with brand goals and objectives.
  3. Oversee planning and execution of consumer demand generation events (both in pharmacies and outside) to promote products and increase market share.
  4. Develop and manage training programs for pharmacy staff and sales agents to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
  1. Sales and Marketing Management
  2. Manage and optimize Field Training activities within SELL-IN and SELL-OUT priorities.
  3. Manage and optimize Field Marketing, merchandising, and trade marketing activities to maximize brand visibility and sales performance.
  4. Coordinate small (pharmacy events with brand Ambassadors) and large consumer events, fairs, and sampling activities.
  5. Collaborate with local distributor stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and ensure effective distribution strategies.
  6. Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and consumer trends to adapt strategies as needed.

  2. Build and lead a high-performing team of field trainers, merchandisers, event managers, and brand ambassadors, providing guidance and professional development.
  3. Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and a strong work ethic.
  4. Set performance objectives, monitor progress, and provide feedback and recognition.
  1. Performance Analysis and Reporting
  2. Monitor sales performance, market share, and customer feedback to identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
  3. Analyze sales data and market insights to generate reports and recommendations for senior management.
  4. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales and marketing activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Italy.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmacy channel, stakeholder dynamics, and customer behavior in Italy.
  • Knowledge of the Italian pharmaceutical distribution model, key players, and regulations.
  • Experience in managing sales agents and reps, designing incentivization programs for over 100 sales agents.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Proven success in driving business growth and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Solid knowledge of field marketing, merchandising, and trade marketing in pharma.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Exceptional communication skills; fluency in English; international work experience is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate a complex, changing environment with resilience and sound decision-making.
  • Commercial acumen to drive proportional campaigns.
