COUNTRY GENERAL MANAGER
Purpose of the Role
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Business Unit in Italy. He/she will ensure the delivery of business results, lead people and process development, drive performance improvement, and promote growth in line with corporate values and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Performance
Lead the definition and implementation of the Business Plan and annual Budget, ensuring achievement of key financial and operational targets. Monitor KPIs and make necessary course corrections
Leadership and Team Management
Direct and support the leadership team (Plant Manager, HR Manager, Quality System Manager, Commercial Manager, IT), fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, training, and development.
Customer Satisfaction and Operational Excellence
Ensure the delivery of high-quality products and customer experiences. Address and solve customer concerns proactively, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and Lean practices.
Business Development and Sales Growth
Identify and lead strategic initiatives for business growth, including the development of new markets and customer relationships. Responsible for increasing sales performance
Cross-functional Coordination
Drive integration and alignment between departments, including production, quality, HR, and commercial operations. Supervise resource allocation and manage forecasting and planning processes.
Legal and Corporate Representation
Act as the Business Unit s legal representative and serve as its public and institutional face when required, ensuring the company image and reputation are upheld
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field. An MBA is considered an advantage
Minimum of 10 years of experience in international industrial companies of the automotive sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Strong background in manufacturing operations, especially in tooling, stamping, and welding assembly environments. Previous experience in Tier 1 automotive suppliers is strongly preferred
Thorough understanding and practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, FMEA, PM Systems, pull systems, and material flow optimization.
Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and engage effectively at all levels.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Location: Based in the Turin area, with flexibility to travel as needed.
