Make your mark in Finance

Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

The responsibilities for this role include :

  • Managing the timely and accurate reporting of USGAAP results for the branch, including:

Monitoring adherence to the periodic close calendar by Accenture and local finance teams.

  • Providing USGAAP subject matter advice, including ensuring consistent implementation of accounting policy changes.
  • Ensuring the quality of USGAAP ledger postings, monitoring the use of SAP code blocks and charts of accounts.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress and quality of balance sheet reconciliations for all entities in the branch.
  • Supporting the transformation of the Controlling teams to improve data quality, reduce manual interventions, and enhance process efficiency.
  • Producing and supporting queries for local GAAP regulatory reporting, local tax processes, and audits.
  • Coordinating the preparation of country statutory returns, communicating with local finance teams, external professional services (EY), and Accenture.
  • Serving as the contact point for External Audit (PWC), Actuarial, Risk, and Tax teams regarding USGAAP controllership financial reporting topics.
  • What we’re looking for :

    • Postgraduate experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or relevant corporate finance role in a multinational corporation.
    • Proven controllership experience within an insurance organization.
    • Experience in finance projects or transformations.
    • Technical expertise in US GAAP and European GAAPs, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting policies.
    • Fluent in English and Italian.
    • Qualified Accountant or equivalent qualification.

    Experience in a multinational organization with diverse geographical locations and matrix reporting structure is preferred.
