The Senior Key Account Manager has overall commercial responsibility for one or more of the Account’s customers. Works with Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to create and implement strategies for maximizing current business and obtaining new business at the assigned OEM(s).

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic, results-driven person to join our Italian Technical Center in Orsenigo (CO) as a Cost Estimator. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for identifying and detailing estimated costs for the “Bill of Materials” representing the purchased components of the product cost model. Ensure estimations are based on the latest competitive intelligence while working within a multi-functional environment to ensure estimates are completed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

1. Development of cost estimates with detailed drawings and/or limited concepts with high confidence to meet Program Team’s expectations.
2. Maintain overall accountability for estimates submitted.
3. Build estimations from the ground up based on knowledge of manufacturing processes and commodities, including cost development for raw materials, machining rates, and other processing costs to ensure accuracy.
4. Cultivate relationships for collaboration with Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, and manufacturing locations. Participate in competitor benchmarking and teardown activities, utilizing the estimating process as required.
5. Explain estimate assumptions clearly to organizational levels and support with detailed backing.
6. Continuously seek improvements in the Cost Estimating Process.
7. Prioritize multiple estimate requests efficiently and accurately.
8. Establish estimated purchased pricing for new business quotes with a range of customers.
9. Be self-motivated and able to determine own priorities with minimal management input. Uphold the highest ethical standards and company values.
10. Recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more processes or commodities.

Education & Experiences

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Accounting/Finance.
2. 5+ years estimating experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
3. Experience with cost estimating software.
4. Ability to convey and train others on estimating processes.
5. Critical analysis skills.
6. Strong interpersonal skills to interact across all organizational levels.
