Ericsson GmbH in Italy (Rome) invites an intern to join the Core Network Integration team. You will assist with configuration, validation, testing and troubleshooting of Core Network platforms, working with experienced engineers in a collaborative setting.

The position targets students or recent graduates with a passion for telecommunications and IT systems, offering hands-on learning and exposure to automation and modern networking practices.

Competenze

• Ongoing or recently completed degree in telecom/comp eng, CS, EE, IT, or related field.
• Interest in telecommunications, mobile networks, Core Network technologies and digital services.
• Basic knowledge: Linux, IP networking, virtualization, containers, cloud tech or scripting (Python/Bash).

About this opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Core Network Integration Intern to join our team in Italy. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers, supporting the configuration, validation, testing and troubleshooting of Core Network platforms and services. You will gain hands‑on experience with the technologies that enable reliable mobile communications, digital services and connectivity for millions of people worldwide.

What you will do

• Support the configuration, validation and testing of Core Network platforms and services.
• Assist with deployment, commissioning and service activation activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides and test reports.
• Support the investigation and troubleshooting of technical issues under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Use automation tools and scripting to improve testing, deployment and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, project teams and technical stakeholders during customer delivery activities.
• Continuously expand your knowledge of Core Network technologies, network architecture and modern engineering practices.

You will bring

• Ongoing or recently completed university degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Strong interest in telecommunications, mobile networks, Core Network technologies and digital services.
• Basic knowledge of Linux, IP networking (TCP/IP), virtualization, containers, cloud technologies or scripting (Python, Bash or similar) will be considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Curiosity, initiative and a genuine willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an international and collaborative environment.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Interest in automation, AI‑assisted engineering and emerging telecom technologies will be considered a plus.

Internship conditions
