A position is available in the kitchen at Camp Caserma Ederle for a candidate who can prepare and cook a variety of simple food items. The successful applicant will need food preparation experience and must be comfortable working in a cafeteria environment, demonstrating good grooming and dependability.

This position is located at Strike Zone Snack Bar, Camp Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy

Duties

• Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing, such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables.
• Prepares hot cereals and concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies. Makes cold sandwich fillings. Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
• Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items.
• Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Disassembles, cleans and assembles component parts and accessories, following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment
• Uses and cleans a variety of cooking utensils to measure, weigh, and process food items. Cleans, stores, and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
• Mission Soggiorno required.
• Official No-Fee Passport and Mission VISA
• Citizenship eligible under country SOFA Agreement
• Duty hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Rotating Schedule.

Qualifications
Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.

Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable:
a. Neatness and good grooming.
b. Dependability.
c. Ability to work under pressure.
