Summary

This position is located in the NSA Naples Business Activities Division, NSA Naples Support Site, Gricignano, Italy. The purpose of this position is to provide counter service, food preparation and serving, beverage and barista service. Employee will assist and receive training and experience in cooking short order items, pizza, and catering functions / special events.

Duties

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of food preparations and limited cooking tasks in a club and/or snack bar environment. Assists higher level food service worker or cook to perform tasks such as grilling / frying pancakes, hamburgers, hotdogs, bacon, eggs, sausage, monitoring cooking, regulating temperature, and removing items when done. Measures and weighs ingredients according to recipes or instructions for salads, desserts, juices, fruit trays, etc. Prepares toast, salads, salad dressing, sandwiches, vegetables, fruits, and pizzas. May prepare and serve beverages (coffee, smoothies, tea) and packaged alcoholic beverages. Plates food for presentation to guests according to procedures and specifications.

Washes and cleans kitchen equipment and work area. Keeps refrigerators, grills, equipment, and work area clean and sanitary at all times.

May be required to collect money, operate a cash register, and prepare Daily Activity Reports (DAR) for cash accountability for MWR funds received.

May assist in taking monthly inventory and outdoor MWR functions.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years old, must certify registration with the Selective Service System.
  • Must pass background checks, including fingerprint and National Agency Check with Inquiries.
  • Must pass pre-employment medical examination.
  • Work schedule is flexible and varies as required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
Qualifications

Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and knowledge of food handling, presentation, and hygiene. Must read, write, and converse in English. Requires previous food handling experience. Must obtain and maintain Food Handlers Certification and alcohol server certification within 30 days.
