Tasks and Qualifications

Main Job Objectives

• Deliver project scope and tasks, exceeding safety, quality, on-time delivery, and budget requirements.
• Commission control systems on-site, including electrical and PLC software, and support testing and end-user training.
• Produce commissioning documentation such as checklists, test specifications, method statements, and risk assessments in compliance with BS EN ISO 12100.
• Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
• Ensure systems are CE compliant with the Machinery Directive.
• Commission safety-related control system parts according to regulations and standards like BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain Dematic's professional image through honesty and attentiveness.
• Build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing high-quality service.
• Coordinate with other departments, customers, and subcontractors.
• Adhere to Dematic standards and policies.
• Promote continuous personal and process improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering or higher; degree preferred.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA development and commissioning software.
• Hands-on electrical commissioning experience.
• Understanding of electrical/electronic manuals and drawings.
• Knowledge of bus systems; understanding of distributed control systems and automated warehouses is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally with a full driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.

Functional and Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in automated system commissioning procedures.
• Ability to interpret and implement design requirements per Machinery Directive and standards.
• Experience with Siemens (S7, TIA) PLC software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems (WinCC, Iconics, Ignition) and industrial networks (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Proficient in PLC and HMI technologies.

Special Conditions

This role requires up to 80% travel within the EMEA region, including visits to other Dematic offices and facilities across Europe. The position may be home-based.
