Responsibilities

As a Senior Solution Designer, you will be part of the Architecture & Design team in the Group Content Platforms department within the Content Technology & Innovation (CT&I) directorate. You will work within one or more delivery squads to ensure coherent design and development of services and features, aligned with the Content Platforms strategy.

Tasks

• Be responsible for detailed solution design and technical requirements for services managed by delivery squads, working closely with internal or TP engineering teams. Lead the "what" dimension of delivery, translating designs into user stories in an Agile environment.
• Contribute to domain architecture and design within an international, distributed team led by a Lead Architect. Sky Content Platforms provide the full content supply chain, including Rights, Linear and VOD Planning & Scheduling, Content Processing, and Metadata enrichment, combining third-party and self-built components.
• Design scalable, flexible, extendable, and resilient event-driven and API-based services, defining integration patterns and business rules to enable evolution and proactive adaptation to business needs.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders to define business and operational capabilities, processes, and data-driven automation, delivering value through a stream-oriented approach.

Key Requirements

• Extensive experience in media/telco IT solution design, including mission-critical 24/7 systems and complex international integrations, preferably in broadcasting domains like TV programs, metadata, and content processing.
• Knowledge of software engineering technologies, design methodologies, and integration patterns for API-first and web applications.
• Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, GCP) implementing large-scale microservices and serverless architectures.
• Proven skills in database modeling and technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, cloud-native databases).
• Optional skills include media codecs, video/audio packaging, encryption, DRM systems, and supply chain orchestration.
• Experience in business process analysis, Agile, and DevOps methodologies (Scrum, SAFE).
• Problem-solving attitude, collaborative work style, and passion for technical excellence, business value, and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills, with a high level of English proficiency (spoken and written). Willingness to travel within and outside Europe.
