Freename is a fast-growing scaleup operating in the blockchain and domain names industry, with a proprietary tech product at the core of our business. Our global marketing team includes 10 talented professionals, spanning SEO, Design, Social Media, and more, based across Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and the US. We’re now looking for a sharp Content and Copy Editor to help elevate our communications and boost our search engine rankings, working closely with our Head of SEO.

About the Role

Are you a seasoned Content and Copy Editor with a knack for SEO and a passion for storytelling? Do you have a genuine interest in internet latest technologies? Do you thrive in a fast-paced startup environment? We're looking for a talented individual with +3 years of experience to join our dynamic startup as a Content and Copy Editor. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our content strategy and driving organic growth in the Web3 world and the traditional internet industry.

In this role, you will lead content production for both organic and paid communication channels, ensuring alignment with our brand voice and marketing objectives. More specifically:

  • Develop a monthly editorial calendar for the blog in collaboration with the Social Media Management and Email Marketing teams, and subsequently handle the production of the corresponding blog content.
  • Utilize research tools to identify and expand niche topics, trending topics, and breaking news in the industry together with the SEO team.
  • Write brand new SEO-oriented content for our blog. You will get access to exclusive industry insights, and you will create engaging articles crafted in a storytelling style that resonates with our audience and optimize our most important pages following E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) principles and SEO best practices.
  • Review and update existing blog articles to improve their SEO. This includes updating and re-pitching old blog posts, aligning content with brand and marketing objectives, keyword and AI optimization, creating metatags, internal linking, and overall improvement and revamping articles.
  • Reviewing and proofreading articles on external media.
  • Collaborate with the Email Marketing Team to create educational and commercial content that enhances engagement and improves channel conversions.
  • Stay ahead of traditional internet and niche tech industry trends and optimize content following best practices (SEO and AI overview) to continuously improve our content for search engines.

Reporting: You will report directly to the Head of SEO.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in content editing, copywriting, content management, and SEO, preferably within a tech or startup environment.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful creative content strategies that drive traffic and engagement.
  • Deep understanding of SEO principles, Google’s E-E-A-T, and experienced using content audit and optimization tools (like Yoast and other page optimization tools).
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills (native English speaker only).
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Previous experience with most common CMSs like WordPress (HubSpot knowledge is a plus).

This is a work-from-home position; however, we believe in fostering strong team connections. To this end, you may be required to travel to our Lugano office for team events and other collaborative activities, approximately once per quarter.
