BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT :
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill the position of Disability Inclusion Officer based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy. WFP is well-known for its ability to deliver food assistance rapidly to people in need. In order to respond effectively in the challenging contexts in which WFP operates, staff require sound knowledge of the fundamentals of programming, as well as skills in specialized areas, such as humanitarian access, protection, accountability to affected populations (AAP), and conflict sensitive programming. The Gender, Protection and Inclusion Service provides programme support, develops guidance and training, and policy advice on cross-cutting quality aspects of programming, including Disability Inclusion. Under the overall supervision of the Senior Disability Inclusion Advisor, the Disability Inclusion Officer will undertake the following duties :
