Your new role
  • Contribute to the delivery of the annual business plan for the respective business unit by making appropriate decisions.
  • Participate in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Promote the department, division, and company to maximize brand leverage.
  • Perform underwriting activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet obligations.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards and instructions to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
  • Record and measure insurance risks accurately, including DUA’s if relevant.
  • Understand and comply with reinsurance requirements to minimize risk and achieve business objectives.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, and partners to achieve business goals.
  • Maintain market awareness to enhance business performance.
  • Engage in learning activities to maintain expertise.
  • Underwrite risks in line with business plans and delegated authority, including negotiating rates and terms, ensuring contract certainty, and supporting credit control.
  • Review and analyze portfolio performance to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in EO systems related to underwriting and exposures.
  • Participate in aggregate management and peer reviews to promote excellence.
  • Motivate and coach team members for their professional development.
About you
  • Over 3 years of underwriting experience, focusing on Construction.
  • Knowledge of CAR / EAR / ALOP / IDI policies and relevant legislation.
  • Familiarity with main pricing tools used in insurance/reinsurance markets.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to analyze data for decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of current insurance market conditions.
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English.
