Note: For this position, availability to travel abroad is required.
The Construction Mechanical Superintendent is appointed for major projects. He reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for coordinating Mechanical Construction activities through various supervisors. The role includes managing Mechanical Subcontractors, monitoring their performance, ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, and cost, and implementing all HSE procedures and standards, including participation in site HSE activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage installation of Mechanical, Piping, Insulation, Electrical, and Instrumentation equipment.
- Monitor subcontractor performance in terms of schedule, quality, and cost; coordinate recovery actions as needed.
- Ensure works adhere to engineering design, quality standards, and project schedule.
- Supervise surveying, inspection, and testing of structures.
- Control and approve Method Statements submitted by subcontractors.
- Coordinate recovery actions for deviations from schedule or specifications.
- Verify adequacy of equipment and manpower employed by subcontractors; ensure works conform to design, safety, and quality standards.
- Prepare non-conformity registers and coordinate resolution.
- Detect and rectify design errors where possible.
- Ensure implementation of HSE procedures and standards.
- Participate directly in HSE activities at the site as per the HSE plan.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
Experience
- Relevant experience in construction or modernization of industrial EPC projects.
- Experience in static equipment erection, including tanks and API650 standards.
- Experience in HVAC installation and cooling tower erection (mandatory).
- Experience with static and rotating equipment.
- Minimum 3 years in the specific discipline.
- Experience working on the contractor side.
- Similar roles in at least three recent projects of comparable size.
