Role overview
The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the full lifecycle of complex, multi-site construction projects (up to three concurrent projects). This includes ensuring compliance with design specifications, contractual obligations, environmental and safety regulations, and project-specific work package definitions. The role requires strong leadership capabilities to manage multiple construction teams and specialized resources, while driving excellence in project execution, stakeholder integration, and strategic alignment with the organization’s long-term goals. A key part of the role involves cross-functional collaboration across departments, interfacing with clients, and maintaining operational sustainability through every phase of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Construction Oversight and Project Execution
- Manage all aspects of construction across multiple sites, ensuring consistency, safety, and quality in delivery
- Lead day-to-day construction decisions and guide teams from pre-construction through commissioning and project closeout
- Develop and enforce site construction best practices and guidelines
- Coordinate all interface points across commercial packages, installation logistics, and contracts
- Own and track progress against construction schedules, proactively identifying risks and resolving delays
- Report daily work advance Strategic Leadership and Team Management
- Establish and lead a Construction Competence group comprising suppliers’ managers, commissioning specialists, suppliers’ installation managers, and suppliers’ representatives
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment across multinational project teams
- Ensure alignment of all project activities with corporate objectives and customer satisfaction requirements. Financial and Commercial Management
- Plan construction services activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Build and respect construction budgets and provide inputs to project business cases
- Monitor, challenge, and optimize project costs both pre-construction and during execution
- Manage RFP processes and vendor selection for capital projects and customer-specific builds
- Coordinate with Finance and Commercial teams on monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and project authorizations. Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key interface between the construction team and internal / external stakeholders, including clients, sales, and operations
- Support sales activities by translating client requirements into construction deliverables tied to lease agreements
- Ensure customer satisfaction and address service-related issues in future build cycles
- Maintain strong, strategic relationships with contractors, suppliers, clients and third-party partners. Compliance, Quality, and Risk Management
- Ensure all deliverables meet applicable codes, lease terms, specifications, and internal standards (BOD)
- Implement and track QA / QC procedures across all phases of construction
- Oversee commissioning of all components and systems in line with internal and external standards to ensure readiness for COD
- Drive a safety-first culture with robust HSE compliance across all sites. Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports to executive leadership and client
- Ensure timely submission of project turnover documentation to operations
- Capture and implement lessons learned to support continuous improvement across all construction programs. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale construction management, with at least 4 years in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-site construction projects on time and within budget
- Deep understanding of the full wind and solar value chain (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commissioning standards, safety regulations, E-Distribuzione and Terna procedures and operational readiness practices
- Proven experience managing multinational, multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on excellence and accountability
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus depending on region.
