Overview

HHLA PLT Italy is a multipurpose maritime terminal started in 2021, located in the middle of the fast-growing North Adriatic market. The Expansion Project Team, carried out by Logistica Giuliana, is planning and executing a phased project to integrate the current facility into a state-of-the-art container terminal, using advanced technologies and expertise.

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate and amend contracts for construction assignments (and related documents) as Client’s Representative
• Monitor contracts during works execution with reference to quantity surveying, process and permitting transparency
• Interface with Direzione Lavori, Main Contractor and Public Authorities (as required) to ensure contract requirements
• Manage claims and discussions with Main Contractor and Direzione Lavori
• Ensure all technical aspects in the contract are understood and applied during works
• Oversee contract development through all lifecycle stages, ensuring insurance, bonding, and legal requirements are met and internal processes and records are maintained
• Comply with safety and security rules and regulations, leading by example
• Support the department and business unit where required
• Follow the corporate authority matrix and contract policies compliance guidelines
• Actively report improvement opportunities to the direct report

What you bring to the table

The Construction Contract Specialist is a detail-oriented, process-minded individual who can manage many contract details. The role requires good communication skills to work with a variety of vendors over time.

• Good English (Italian is a plus)
• Strong understanding of technical aspects of a construction project (design stages, works execution, test and commissioning)
• Experience with Direzione Lavori and/or as Client’s Representative (ideally in infrastructures or environmental projects) focused on contracts
• In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents and legal specifications
• Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to develop relationships and maintain networks
• Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience working in a multi-cultural, international environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in project management, engineering, or law

The ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and be willing to work in Trieste.
