A great opportunity to join as a Complex Director of Finance for a luxury hotel group in Rome, overseeing 3 hotels, a spa, and a restaurant.

Job Description: Complex Director of Finance

The Complex Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing, directing, and administering all financial operations of the hotels and restaurants, contributing to the delivery of outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

The Complex Director of Finance reports directly to the Managing Director of the company.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of monthly management accounts, including USALI Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Inventory, and weekly financial reports, along with forecasting profits, cash, and payroll.
2. Oversee hotel P&Ls.
3. Supervise and direct the financial activities of the hotels, safeguard assets, and prepare all financial reports in accordance with USALI standards.
4. Serve as a financial advisor to hotel management and ownership groups.
5. Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, and expenses, reporting to the Managing Director.
6. Assist and counsel department heads in interpreting financial data and recommend actions to maximize profitability.
7. Prepare forecasts and budgets throughout the year and advise hotel management, corporate office, and owners.
8. Develop departmental strategies and establish effective goals.
9. Define measures and action plans related to: Colleague Engagement, Guest Experience, Revenue, Financial Reporting, Loyalty Programs, Purchasing, IT metrics, etc.
10. Interview, train, supervise, counsel, schedule, and evaluate staff.
11. Provide financial oversight of capital expenditure processes.
12. Establish and audit internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel equipment, master keys, and time records.
13. Ensure all licenses, permits, and insurance policies are current and compliant with laws.
14. Fluent in Italian and English.
15. Maintain the highest ethical standards and confidentiality when handling financial information.
16. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Hospitality Director of Finance, with proven extensive experience in a similar financial leadership role within the ultra-luxury hotel sector.
