Mercer is seeking candidates for our Reward & Executive Compensation Practice to join us as a Manager based in Rome.

Our Reward Practice supports clients in connecting their strategic business objectives with their implications for executive compensation rewards and incentive systems. Reward consultants work with a wide range of clients to develop and implement reward programs, providing expert advice on pay philosophy, reward strategy, incentive design, market trends, regulations, and best practices. Drawing on global research and rigorous analysis, compensation consultants equip our clients—both national and international, listed and privately owned—with guidance, knowledge, tools, and support to ensure their reward programs reinforce their strategic objectives.

A Reward Manager makes an impact : ready to manage projects, work independently, help teammates thrive, and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

What can you expect :

  • Manage client projects : prepare presentations and templates using project management tools, estimate hours for the project team, and prepare timelines for project milestones.
  • Conduct regular meetings and check-ins with C-suite executives to understand their evolving needs and provide ongoing support and guidance, acting as a strategic advisor.
  • Serve as an independent project manager for complex projects or modules, ensuring client projects adhere to budget.
  • Prioritize project activities to manage workload and meet deadlines. Delegate tasks appropriately and lead project status meetings.
  • Write engagement letters, project proposals, and responses to RFPs. Serve as a primary client contact and build relationships.
  • Conduct client interviews, facilitate focus groups, and deliver training.
  • Write and review client presentations and reports, including Excel exhibits and initial data analyses.
  • Thought leadership : develop new tools and templates, such as Excel-based tools for market competitiveness, and ensure intellectual capital is captured and shared.

Requirements :

  • Master's degree in Economics, Organization Management, or Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in consulting or HR functions with a focus on Reward and Compensation.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with commercial responsibilities and team leadership.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering high-quality consulting services, especially with C-suite executives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment managing multiple projects.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
