More About the Role:
The Digital Modernization Sector of Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Network Engineer to support efforts for the OCONUS Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) portion of the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract located in Naples, Italy.

NGEN-R SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy, by delivering the OCONUS Enterprise Network (ONE-Net); inclusive of cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.

What You'll Get to Do:
•Evaluate communication hardware and software, as well as troubleshoot and administer Local Area Networks/Base Area Networks/Wide Area Networks (LAN/BAN/WAN), and other network related problems.
•Remotely manage distributed switches, and network device within each local site by a central location where possible.
•Coordinate maintenance and restoration activities of remote network devices with the TNOSC and LNSC leadership.
•Coordinate across ONE-Net regions on operational initiatives that require cross-regional tasking.
•Respond to all escalated service requests and trouble tickets delivered through the Service Desk.
•Ensure the escalation of incidents and problems are assigned to the appropriate Tier.
•Maintain records of daily activities, problems and remedial actions taken, and/or installation activities.
•Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures through manual configuration, installation of patches, or the application of scripts to protect data, software, and hardware.
•Participate in technical exchanges as required
•Provide technical and operational input to Regional Change Review activities.
•Review existing documentation for the network devices, services, data storage operations, and maintenance processes and procedures, and provide recommendations for improvements/changes.
•Assist network and systems security personnel in IA incident response, including close coordination with the Theater IAM for all IA related tasks.
•Maintain all systems within the configuration baselines and all STIGs, and accurately configure and apply patches to all systems.
•Integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices.
•Perform system and database administration (read: Solarwinds, Forescout, Netscout) to ensure optimal network performance, maintain the network security posture, and minimize customer service interruptions.
•Provide network operational support, SME support on new technology, and engineering/implementation support for new solutions.
•Address and complete Customer Service Request (Move/Add/Changes) and Incident ticket within service level agreements and ensuring customer satisfaction.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance.
•B.S. Degree (in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related field) and 4–8 years of previous experience in the Information Technology field working as a Systems Administrator in a Microsoft Server environment or Network Administration. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
•Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, etc.).
•Must possess a CCNA Routing & Switching.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•ITIL Foundation v3 or v4.
•CCIE Certification is a plus.
•Additional OS certification (Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, etc.).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
