Job Description:

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Restaurant Commis.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Commis will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.

This is a seasonal part-time role (30-hour working week) from May to October 2025.

The impact you’ll make:

You will showcase your menu knowledge and share your expertise with guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience through warm greetings, flawless service, and friendly interactions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Welcoming guests and attending to tables promptly
• Serving food and beverages
• Assisting guests with menu questions and special requests
• Checking guest satisfaction
• Cleaning tables, closing duties, and re-stocking supplies
• Communicating with kitchen staff regarding orders, allergies, and special requirements
• Following meal cycle time guidelines
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas
• Inspecting china, glass, and silverware for cleanliness and presentation
• Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and brand guidelines

What we’re looking for:

• Legal right to work in Italy with valid work permit for full-time (40 hours/week)
• Fluency in English and Italian
• Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
• Experience in fine dining preferred
• Warm, personable demeanor
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

This role requires physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in uniform. Safety training and certification will be required prior to employment.
