Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, part of the LVMH Group, is a charming guesthouse in the heart of Portofino. Its celebrated restaurant, DaV Mare, embodies the pleasures of piazzetta living through refined cuisine, curated in partnership with the 3-Michelin-star Cerea family. With a nautical spirit, our gem on the Italian Riviera celebrates Ligurian living in its purest form.

We are seeking a Commis de Rang wine for the 2025 season to join our restaurant team.

The ideal candidate is open to new challenges and eager to develop professionally. He/she should support the team in providing authentic, luxury dining experiences, demonstrating care, curiosity, and community spirit.

Customer service attitude is essential.

Reports to: Chef de Rang.

• Perform operations according to company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain mise en place.
• Assist the Sommelier during service.
• Set up floors, tables, chairs, linens, glasses, and silverware for service.
• Monitor all aspects of the guests' experience, from restaurant setup to service, and act to ensure flawless service, anticipating guests’ needs.

Requirements

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Emotional intelligence: sensitivity to guests' and colleagues' needs and emotions, with the ability to manage own emotions in challenging situations.
• Adaptability: ability to identify when a different approach is needed and to offer solutions; openness to new methods.
• Teamwork: willing to share information and skills, actively seeking and providing feedback.

Additional requirements:

• Fluent in Italian and basic English.
• Hospitality or Tourism degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role, including internships.
• Passion for service and professional growth ambition.
• References available.
• HACCP Certification.
• Good knowledge of wines; AIS certification is a plus.

We offer a seasonal labor contract under C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo - Level 6s, Commis de Rang.

Start date: March 2025; End date: January 2026, with potential for ongoing seasons and career development.

Salary: approximately €1,500 gross per month, with separate payslips for 13th, 14th month, and TFR.
