Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, part of the LVMH Group, is a charming guesthouse in the heart of Portofino. Its celebrated restaurant, DaV Mare, embodies all the pleasures of piazzetta living through refined cuisine, curated in partnership with the 3-Michelin-star Cerea family. Awash with nautical spirit, our gem on the Italian Riviera celebrates the art of Ligurian living in its purest form.

We are seeking a Commis de Rang for the 2025 season to join our restaurant team.

The ideal candidate is eager for new challenges and committed to continuous personal development. They should support the team in delivering authentic and luxurious dining experiences, demonstrating care, curiosity, and a sense of community.

Customer service attitude is essential.

Reporting to the Chef de Rang, the main duties include:

  1. Fulfilling operations in accordance with company policies, high standards, and procedures.
  2. Managing mise en place.
  3. Supporting the Chef de Rang during service.
  4. Cleaning and setting up floors, tables, chairs, linens, glassware, and silverware for service.
  5. Monitoring all aspects of the guests' experience, from restaurant layout preparation to service, and acting to ensure flawless service while anticipating guest needs.

Requirements include:

  1. Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  2. Emotional intelligence, with sensitivity to guests and colleagues, and the ability to manage own emotions in challenging situations.
  3. Adaptability to identify when different approaches are needed and to propose solutions.
  4. Ability and willingness to work as part of a team, sharing information and skills, and actively seeking and providing feedback.

Additional requirements:

  1. Fluency in Italian and basic English.
  2. A degree in Tourism or Hospitality is preferred.
  3. Previous professional experience in a similar role, including internships.
  4. A passion for service and a desire to grow professionally.
  5. References and HACCP certification.
  6. Good knowledge of wines; AIS certification is a plus.

Benefits include:

  1. Seasonal labor contract according to C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo - Level 6s, Commis de Rang.
  2. Start: March 2025; End: January 2026, with potential for ongoing seasonal collaboration and career advancement.
  3. Gross monthly salary approximately €1,500, with separate payslips for 13th, 14th salaries, and TFR.
  4. Monthly incentives based on quality goals, a welcome bonus.
  5. Accommodation in staff housing, including breakfast.
  6. Bus tickets during the contract period; staff canteen.
