Belmond Splendido Mare in Portofino is seeking a Commis de Bar to join the DaV Mare Restaurant team. You will contribute to luxury guest experiences through attentive bar service and collaboration with the Bartender, upholding high standards.

The role covers bar operations, mise en place, and ensuring flawless service, with a start in October 2026 and a contract through January 2027, with potential continued collaboration for subsequent seasons.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Its celebrated restaurant, DaV Mare, embodies all the pleasures of piazzetta living through refined cuisine, curated in partnership with the 3-Michelin-star Cerea family. We are looking for a Commis de Bar to join our DaV Mare Restaurant team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and comfortable with challenges.

He/She is willing to provide authentic and luxury experiences, demonstrating care, confidence, curiosity and community.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Fulfil the operations of the Bar, according to the Company policies, high standards and procedures;
• Support the Bartender with service;
• Take care of the mise en place:
• Clean and set-up works’ spaces and equipments;
• Monitor all aspects of the customers' experience, from the restaurant layout before they arrive to the experience they receive during the service.
• Act to enhance a flawless service and anticipate Guests’ needs.

Requirements

• Effective communication: communicate clearly and in an appropriate manner (both verbally and non-verbally);
• Emotional intelligence: demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and emotions of guests and colleagues and adjust his/her style to them. Manage own emotions in challenging situations;
• Adaptability: identify when a different approach is needed and offer solutions.
• Try and adopt new ways of doing things;
• Collaboration: be able and willing to work as a team player e share information and skills and actively seek and provide feedback;
• Fluent in Italian and basic level of English;
• Tourism or Hospitality degree preferred;
• Previous professional experience in a similar role, also with school internships;
• Passion for service and ambition to grow professionally.
