About the role

As a Commercial Asset and Contract Manager, you will be responsible for securing income from our wind and solar asset portfolio and contracts in Italy, with support for assets in Spain and Portugal. You will be part of the Commercial Operations Southern Europe team within Asset Partner & Optimisation Renewables, working across nine countries to maximize renewable income streams. Collaborating with colleagues in Essen and across Europe, you will ensure the best commercial value for our assets.

• Secure and optimize revenues from Italian assets and contracts, acting as backup for Spain and Portugal
• Manage and operate market access contracts in Italy, collaborating with Back Office, Risk, and Accounting for settlement, and support tendering and negotiations for new contracts
• Ensure all commercial requirements for new assets are met for grid injection, subsidies, and certificates
• Implement assets and contracts into RWEST IT systems, acting as the local data reference for metering and power prices
• Develop income models to monitor performance, collaborating with teams to identify optimization opportunities
• Monitor regulatory changes and analyze their impact on our portfolio, supporting new business opportunities
• Maintain strong relationships within RWE Renewables and the wider RWE Group

Job requirements and experience

• Degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, or Engineering with 1-5 years of relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of Italian electricity markets; advanced knowledge is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail
• Proactive attitude, adaptable to change
• Experience with data tools like Tableau, Excel, Dremio, or Databricks; quick learner of new IT tools
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe
• Fluency in Italian and English

Preferred but not essential

• Experience with renewable energy dispatching in Italy, especially managing imbalance costs
