About the role

As a Commercial Asset and Contract Manager, you will secure income from our wind and solar assets in Italy, with support for assets in Spain and Portugal. You'll be part of the Southern Europe Commercial Operations team within Asset Partner & Optimisation Renewables, working across nine countries to maximize renewable income streams. Collaborate with colleagues in Essen and across Europe to optimize asset value.

• Secure and optimize revenues from Italian assets and contracts; serve as backup for Spanish and Portuguese portfolios.
• Manage existing market access contracts in Italy, coordinate with Back Office, Risk, and Accounting for settlements, and assist in tendering and negotiations.
• Prepare and ensure compliance for new assets, including grid connection, subsidies, and certificates.
• Ensure assets and contracts are correctly integrated into RWEST IT systems; act as the local data reference point.
• Develop and maintain income models (Excel, Tableau) to monitor performance; collaborate with teams in Essen for optimization and strategy refinement.
• Monitor regulatory changes and analyze their impact; support new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships within RWE Renewables and the wider RWE Group.

Job requirements and experience

• Business, analytical, or quantitative degree with 1-5 years in Commercial, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of Italian electricity markets; advanced knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, detail-oriented.
• Proactive, adaptable, willing to challenge the status quo.
• Proficient in data management tools such as Tableau, Excel, Dremio, Databricks; quick learner of new IT tools.
• Occasional travel to Essen and other European locations.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Advantageous, but not essential

• Experience with renewable energy dispatching in Italy, especially minimizing imbalance costs.
