Club General Manager - Brand NEW Club in Carrara!

At Fitness Cartel Australia, we’re more than a gym – we’re an exciting and fast-growing brand with plans to expand to 60+ clubs by 2030. Our state-of-the-art facilities include everything from Cycle Studios and Reformer Pilates to cafés, crèche, and saunas, creating a feel-good environment that motivates, challenges, and inspires.

We’re bringing the Fitness Cartel experience to Carrara! Our brand-new club is opening soon, offering world-class facilities, cutting-edge equipment, and an incredible fitness community. This is your chance to be part of something special from the very beginning!

The Role :

Club General Managers (CGMs) are primarily responsible for the club’s overall performance & operations. This role will be integral in driving a culture of excellence, community, and high performance, working alongside our Executive Team, Regional Performance Managers, and Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of the club’s overall budgets and financials, including member growth, EBITDA, and retention strategies.
  • Overseeing a big-box style gym with 3000+ members, including a crèche, retail & apparel store, and café.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the club, ensuring high-quality facilities are consistently maintained.
  • Recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of staff members.
  • Deliver training, mentoring, and support for the club department heads, running weekly meetings to engage & motivate teams.
  • Oversee staff rostering to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours, approve leave, and manage payroll.
  • Use internal software systems such as Clubware, Debit Success, & Gym Sales to ensure internal procedures are followed.
  • Plan, manage, and execute club events like open days and 8-week challenges.
  • Conduct statistical reporting & analysis.
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Experience in a similar role—must be a big-box gym with more than 20 staff and over 2,000 members.
  • Experience in a KPI-driven environment with a natural drive to achieve targets and team goals.
  • Ability to build rapport with people from varied backgrounds and a desire to help others succeed.
  • Growth mindset, with a genuine passion for fitness & sales.
  • Problem-solving skills and resilience.
  • Outstanding communication skills—listening, understanding, empathizing, and influencing others.
  • Customer-focused attitude and a desire to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Ability to be a role model and embody health values and behaviors.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a thirst for learning and growth.
  • Reliability, professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable team player with multitasking and initiative skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to communicate and uphold policies and procedures.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
  • Australian working rights.
