What are your responsibilities as Cloud SysOps Engineer?

You will be exposed to a variety of technologies, development teams, tools, and processes. As part of a Cloud Operations team, you will collaborate with other members to manage and evolve the Cloud infrastructure, investigate and resolve system and performance issues, and proactively monitor our production environment. You will also work with developers to organize dev/prod environments, manage environment variables, and improve design choices.

Our core Cloud engineering department is based in Lucca, where teams work closely together on products for industries such as banking, insurance, automotive, and retail. We emphasize the Agile methodology, leveraging teamwork, self-organization, and proactivity, believing that the best solutions come from collective intelligence and collaborative decision-making.

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with the team to develop, maintain, enhance, and extend our Cloud infrastructure.
  2. Troubleshooting and resolving Cloud service issues in coordination with Customer Support, development teams, and Product Management.
  3. Identifying patterns of issues and root causes, advocating for investigations and holistic fixes.
  4. Managing emergency plans for cloud services, including backup/restore systems.
  5. Implementing disaster recovery solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
  6. Maintaining and improving the security posture of the organization.
  7. Automating and optimizing application availability, scalability, performance monitoring, and alerting.
  8. Examining operational activities and technology debt scenarios for automation or innovation.
  9. Ensuring continuous team improvement and process efficiency.
  10. Maintaining process repeatability, documenting infrastructure changes, and assisting during deployments and downtimes.

  • Fluency in Italian and proficiency in English.
  • Experience with ticketing systems like Jira or Salesforce.

Preferred additional skills include:

  • Knowledge of virtualization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Chef and cloud automation tools like Terraform.
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices.
  • Certifications in AWS or Azure.
