For our offices in Costa Volpino, we are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator, a Database Management Expert to manage database configuration, availability, and correct operations in a multi-paradigm database environment. The role involves monitoring, ensuring availability, disaster recovery, and contributing to the evolution of our data stores.

This position requires adherence to best practices in database management within a cloud application environment, focusing on data scalability, performance, and availability.

Main tasks of the position:

The candidate will support and consult with development teams in designing, setting up, and operating databases following best practices for managing data in cloud applications.

• University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or comparable work experience.
• At least 4 years of professional experience, including 2 years in database administration within a cloud-based distributed application.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English.

Required skills and experience:

• Proven practical knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, H2) and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in setup, administration, and performance tuning of databases for cloud applications.
• Routine experience with patching databases, managing permissions, configuring for high availability, troubleshooting, and setting up monitoring metrics and sensors.
• Ability to oversee and influence cloud service providers in infrastructure management and maintenance, manage data migration, and support database analysis, design, and optimization in cloud environments.
• Experience with re-architecting database structures to address data security concerns.

Additional skills:

• Experience with data versioning systems (Liquibase, Flyway) and scripted deployment of databases in containerized environments (Kubernetes).

Collaboration and work policy:

• Works closely with agile development teams.
• Assists developers in designing and tuning databases and queries (Liquibase, Hibernate, SQL); provides analysis and design recommendations.

Please note that we have a hybrid working policy, and candidates are required to work on-site 3 days per week.
