Do Work That Matters - Your Role and Responsibilities

Do you want to do work that is truly meaningful and impactful? At KPMG, you will have the opportunity to help clients, society, and colleagues tackle and solve the most current and complex challenges. Experts from Nolan Norton, an IT Strategy company within the KPMG Network, help organizations face digital transformation challenges and implement IT architectures. Specifically, you will join the CIO Advisory Team in Rome, experts in data management architectures and solutions that support CIOs in their digital evolution journey, from strategy to execution and from vision to real value. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating environment, working with high-level clients highly visible in the financial services, energy, public sector, and consumer and industrial markets.

Specifically, you will work on innovative technologies on challenging and exciting projects, supporting our clients mainly on the following topics:

  • ICT Strategy: We help our clients develop innovative technology strategies and operating models, focusing on the cloud-native and data-driven evolution of information systems;
  • Cloud & Data Architecture: We design scalable, secure, and efficient hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, integrated with modern data platforms for enabling analytics and AI;
  • Data Management & Modernization: We support the design and implementation of modern data platforms (Data Lake, DWH, Data Mesh), taking care of ingestion, orchestration, cataloging, data quality, and governance;
  • ICT Planning & Budgeting: We assist clients in planning technology roadmaps, budgeting cloud and data initiatives, and optimizing ICT spending;
  • Strategic Sourcing: We accompany organizations in selecting technology partners and defining service delivery and management models in cloud/data-centric environments;
  • ICT Governance & Organization: We design governance models, roles, responsibilities, and organizational frameworks to ensure effective management of cloud and data initiatives;
  • ICT Cost Right-Sizing & FinOps: We analyze existing architectures to optimize resources, rationalize platforms, and introduce FinOps practices for intelligent management of cloud and data costs.

Come As You Are - Your Skills and Characteristics

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience;
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in designing hybrid IT architectures (cloud and on-premise) in heterogeneous application contexts;
  • Skills in application integration and API management;
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps methodology;
  • Knowledge of key technologies in Observability, Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Container, and Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes);
  • Experience in designing and implementing Serverless solutions and event-driven architectures;
  • Networking and security skills in cloud environments;
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one of the major public cloud providers (AWS, MS Azure, GCP, OCI, IBM Cloud);
  • Knowledge of the English language, ideally deepened through educational/work experience abroad.

Possession of one or more of the following certifications is considered a preferential requirement:

  • Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect;
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (or Professional);
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert;
  • Google Professional Data Engineer;
  • Snowflake Architect Certification;
  • RedHat Certified Architect (RHCA);
