Descrizione del lavoro

Participates in interdisciplinary and process improvement teams to identify potential future uses of the information systems and improvements in current system use. Serves as a nursing informatics resource within Patient Care Services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of Performance Improvement methodology used within the organization.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in Nursing Informatics, hardware, and software technology; supports users and process teams with this knowledge.
  • Prepares Performance Improvement reports for care services presentations at committee meetings; reports to Hospital Quality Management for external benchmarking as needed.
  • Conducts focus studies to assess patient care process stability, patient outcomes, and organizational goals.
  • Coordinates investigations of reportable incidents, sentinel events, citations, and data collection for corrective actions.
  • Participates in quality-related projects; recommends and helps implement corrective plans; prepares monthly variance reports for leadership, physicians, and hospital staff.
  • Utilizes office technology and database systems to perform job functions; creates documents for presentations and storyboards.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities are considered essential under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Job Qualifications

  • BSN nursing degree required; current RN license in New York State; additional certifications as needed.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Licensed Registered Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience, with knowledge of QM principles, NYPORTS, and JCAHO requirements.
