Introduction

Technology sales at IBM is evolving its way of working to break beyond boundaries with innovative approaches. Preferring to 'show' vs. 'tell', Client Engineering co-creates with prospective customers, in real-time, on solutions to their hardest business challenges.

As a Solution Architect within Client Engineering, you'll be a key player in a multi-disciplinary team made up of Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, Developers, and Business Strategists. The brightest minds collaborate with clients as one team, contributing to experiential working sessions that produce minimal viable products (MVPs) and enterprise-scale solutions at lean, start-up speed.

Excellent onboarding training will set you up for success, with ongoing development to advance your career. Our sales environment is fast-paced and supportive. You'll be part of a team with leaders and colleagues willing to help as you support MVPs and proofs of concept (PoC) that demonstrate IBM's value to clients.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Technical Leadership: Act as the overall technical single point of contact for client-facing experiential engagements involving a broad range of public and hybrid cloud technologies.
• Solution Development: Use expertise in cloud, AI, and analytics to develop frameworks and solutions addressing clients' toughest problems using IBM products and services.
• Solution Delivery: Manage all aspects of solution delivery, from requirements gathering to technical decisions, ensuring solutions provide business value, security, and reliability.
• Solutions Architecture Ownership: Own the solutions architecture plan and participate hands-on in client engagements.
• Continuous Knowledge Expansion: Regularly expand your knowledge in business, industry, technology, and competitive benchmarks.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficiency in hybrid cloud technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, Containers, Cyber Security, Red Hat OpenShift, and IBM Cloud Paks.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and facilitate problem discovery and solutioning sessions.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as scrum, extreme programming, paired programming, and TDD.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
• Expertise in domains like application modernization, business automation, SRE, AIOps, Edge Computing, integration, and data engineering.
