As a FedEx Clearance Broker Associate, you will work closely with Customs to enable our on-time clearance and delivery. You will ensure checks and processes are completed that result in timely and effective processing of transactions and legal and regulatory compliance. You will work within tight time deadlines in a busy office environment.

Work shifts are scheduled between 5 p.m. and 00 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review shipment data to identify the exact customer and regulatory requirements, along with the accuracy and completeness of documentation supplied.
2. Use in-house systems to create timely, accurate, and legally compliant clearance declarations.
3. Conduct professional calls with customers or government agencies to obtain clarifications when needed.
4. Take ownership of routine customer and customs disputes, taking the actions needed to provide the required and timely resolution.
5. Establish and maintain effective customer relationships by highlighting opportunities for customized or alternative services.
6. Contribute to team performance in a busy office environment, demonstrating good teamwork skills.
7. Experience or working knowledge of key clearance principles, import/export processes, regulatory requirements, CHIEF entries, and commercial flights processing is desirable.
8. Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
9. Attention to detail and ability to make sound numerical decisions within tight deadlines.
10. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
