Chief Technology Officer

The new company
My client's rendezvous and docking technology enables the satellite's life extension and space debris removal missions, securing safe and sustainable orbits for generations to come. They are currently developing their Autonomous Rendezvous Capturing system, a module for rendezvous and docking activities in space for IOS activities.
Location: Torino with the possibility of working remotely.
Your new role
As the Chief Technology Officer, you will be a vital part of the executive team, driving technological innovations and leading the development of the core product.
Main Responsibilities:

1. Lead the company's technological vision and strategy in alignment with business goals.
2. Oversee the development team, fostering an environment of innovation and high performance.
3. Manage the development of the core product, including radar, machine vision systems, laser range finders, and robotics.
4. Maintain oversight of system architecture and ensure integration and coherence across all technology platforms.
5. Drive initiatives to secure intellectual property in collaboration with legal teams.
6. Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards in all tech operations.
7. Engage with major stakeholders, including investors, government entities, and industry partners, to secure collaborations and funding.
8. Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent.

What you need to succeed

1. Proven experience as a CTO or senior engineering leader, preferably in the aerospace industry.
2. Strong background in the design and deployment of systems incorporating radar, machine vision, laser technologies, and robotics.
3. Rich expertise in GNSS and Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO).
4. Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse and highly skilled technical teams.
5. Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
6. Fluent in English.
